what is sotm?

Song of the Month (SOTM) is a community-driven platform dedicated to putting new-gen music in the spotlight. Every month, our community votes on their favorite new releases, and the winning song is crowned Song of the Month.

how voting works

1.

voting period - Vote for a month's songs throughout that entire month, plus 7 extra days into the next month. For example, January songs can be voted on from January 1st through February 7th.

2.

5 votes per cycle - You get 5 votes for each month's cycle, tracked separately. In early February, you could use 5 votes on January songs AND 5 votes on February songs.

3.

change your mind - You can switch your vote on a song (upvote to downvote or vice versa) without using an additional vote. You can also remove a vote to get it back in your pool.

4.

winner reveal - On the 7th of each month at midnight EST, voting closes for the previous month and the Song of the Month is announced.

submitting songs

Submit songs released during a given month anytime before the voting deadline (the 7th of the following month). Email verification is required to vote or submit.

karma system

Earn karma by participating in the community. Karma rewards thoughtful contributions and engagement. Higher karma unlocks new ranks and features.
